Donation to L.A. Central Library

I wonder if The Times and the Los Angeles public know what a great favor The Times is doing the Los Angeles Central Library--”one of the jewels of the city,” as your editorial so correctly states. The favor is the 900 number crossword- puzzle addicts can now call, at 95 cents a minute, if they are stumped.
With this service, the stumped don’t have to call the library for that kind of assistance as they have often done in the past. This allows the depleted and overworked library staff to do its language and patent and many other things more quickly and efficiently.
