A man believed to be in his late 20s was stabbed to death at the Oceanside swap meet soon after police broke up a brawl at the same location, police said.
According to Officer Bob George, police were summoned at 3:59 p.m. Sunday to the swap meet in the 3400 block of Mission Ave. They found an unidentified man dead at the scene from apparent stab wounds to the chest.
Thirty minutes earlier, police had broken up a large fight at the swap meet and witnesses said the victim and his assailant had participated in the fight.
“It appears that most of the subjects involved are migrant field workers,” George said in a statement.
