Freeman Sentencing: Charles Freeman, the first record store owner in the nation to be convicted of selling obscene materials, is scheduled to be sentenced today . The 32-year-old Ft. Lauderdale entrepreneur was arrested June 8 for selling a copy of 2 Live Crew’s “As Nasty as They Wanna Be” album to an undercover police officer two days after a federal judge in his Florida community declared the record obscene. Freeman was convicted of obscenity by a jury on Oct. 3 and faces a maximum penalty of one year in jail and a $1,000 fine.
