Muscatel Student Wins L.A. Liszt Competition

Jun Kurasako of Rosemead, a student at Muscatel Junior High School, has won the Sandor Bory Grand Prize in the Los Angeles Liszt Competition sponsored by the Pasadena branch of the Music Teachers’ Assn. of California and the American Liszt Society.

Other winners among the 49 piano and voice students who participated are Takahiro Ichige of San Marino, a student at Huntington Junior High School; Wendy Chen of Temple City, who attends Oak Avenue Junior High; Jean Lee of Arcadia, a student at Dana Junior High; Diana Kim of Arcadia, who attends Polytechnic School in Pasadena, and Jack and Jimmy Lin of Arcadia. Jack Lin attends Hugo Reid Elementary School and Jimmy Lin attends Foothill Junior High School.
