Actor Lorenzo Lamas tried to play peacemaker and ended up being hit in the face by two men during a dispute at a movie theater, authorities said today.
Llamas and his wife were watching a film at Universal City Cineplex Odeon on Thursday night when two men sitting in front of them began fighting, sheriff’s Deputy Mary Landreth said. Lamas tried to intervene, “at which time both men struck him in the face,” she said.
Lamas’ wife left the theater to get help and came back a short time later with sheriff’s deputies. The two men were placed under citizen’s arrest by Lamas, who was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank and treated for a face cut.
Booked on battery charges were James Steward, 21, of Meriden, Conn., and Robert Halliday, 23, of Mt. Laurel, N.J. Bail was set at $250 each.
