IRVINE : Armed Man Robs World S&L; Branch

An armed man escaped Thursday with an unknown amount of cash after robbing a savings and loan, police said.
The robbery occurred at World Savings & Loan Assn. at 3880 Michelson Drive at 10:35 a.m., police said.
The man pointed a blue-steel revolver at the teller and demanded cash, police said. After getting the money, the gunman fled the bank but was not seen afterward.
