Forest Products Firm to Curtail Output: Louisiana-Pacific Corp. said it would temporarily curtail production at many of its mills because of the slump in the housing market. “The record decline in the home building market and sharply lower prices for building products have forced the company to curtail production at many plants for varying periods of time during the fourth quarter,” the forest products company said in a statement. Company spokesman Barry Lacter said officials had not decided which mills to close or how long they will be shut down.
