Corona del Mar’s Phebus to Open Pursuit of Third State Singles Title

HUNTINGTON BEACH —  Two-time defending champion Keri Phebus of Corona del Mar High School will be one of four Orange County players competing in the preliminary and quarterfinal rounds of the Southern Section individual girls’ tennis championships at Lindbourg Racquet Club.

The matches begin at 11 a.m. Friday’s semifinals start at 9 a.m. and will be followed by the finals.

Among those attempting to end Phebus’ reign will be Anne Mall of Dana Hills, who lost to Phebus last year in the final match; Lisa Alipaz of Canyon and Nicole Elliott of Dana Hills.
