Longs Drug Stores: The Walnut Creek, Calif., drugstore chain said third-quarter net income fell 6% from a year ago to $11.9 million as revenue rose 9% to $556.7 million. The company said its profit was hurt by lower gross margins and increased salary and benefits costs.
