William A. Gifford has been appointed senior vice president and regional manager of Boston Safe Deposit and Trust Co. of California, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Boston Co., a financial services firm. He was formerly senior vice president and manager of private banking for First National Bank in San Diego. Operating from the Newport Beach office, Gifford will oversee the company’s operations south of Los Angeles, including Palm Desert, San Diego and Hawaii.
