BACKDOOR BID: With the site of the 1993 Super Bowl apparently up for grabs again (C1), why isn’t Anaheim making a bid? . . . Well, (1) the times it tried (in ’83 and ‘84), it lost, and (2) Anaheim Stadium is dinky compared with the Rose Bowl, whose 104,091 seats have attracted four Super Bowls so far. Only the Orange Bowl has more--five. . . . So Anaheim’s joining ‘em. For a cut of the revenue--$50,000 to $100,000--Anaheim has agreed to back the Rose Bowl’s bid. . . . The money would go toward expanding Anaheim Stadium’s football press box, an official said.
