Nelson Stewart, a 6-foot-7 junior forward who redshirted last season, will be out at least two weeks after severely spraining an ankle, San Diego State Coach Jim Brandenburg said Thursday.
“It’s a setback,” Brandenburg said. “It forces us to get more repetition with different guys.”
Stewart transferred to SDSU last season from Eastern Utah.
Brandenburg also said 6-8 forward Keith Balzer (tendinitis in a knee) is likely sidelined until Monday.
“We sure hope to have him back Monday,” Brandenburg said. “I think he has a chance to be a part of this puzzle.”
Balzer, a junior, is a transfer from Imperial Valley Community College.
