VACAVILLE — An explosion ripped through a branch of the Security Pacific Bank today, triggering a fire that destroyed the building.
Fire officials were on the scene this morning trying to determine the cause of the 1 a.m. blast, which they said may have resulted from a bomb or a gas main.
“It was definitely an explosion,” said acting Capt. Joel Brick. “It was heard by numerous neighbors. Parts of the building are in the front of the street. The building was . . . destroyed by fire and a good part of the front of the building was blown off, that’s what it looks like.”
No injuries were reported, and an estimate of damages wasn’t immediately available.
