Soviets Fail to Repair Hatch in Spacewalk

MOSCOW — Two Soviet astronauts failed to repair an entry hatch on the Mir space station Tuesday after a spacewalk of almost four hours, the official Tass news agency said.
Gennady Manakov and Gennady Strekalov were making the fourth attempt by astronauts to repair the hinge and seal of the hatch, damaged during a spacewalk by the previous crew in July.
