SIMI VALLEY : Davis OKs Release of Police Officer File
- Share via
Ventura County supervisorial candidate Bill Davis announced Tuesday that he will authorize release of his service record as a Culver City police officer to satisfy questions raised by opponent Vicky Howard.
Howard, who serves on the Simi Valley City Council with Davis, has criticized her opponent for not allowing his police personnel file to be released.
Davis first refused to authorize release of his police record, saying “there are things there that I don’t think are anybody’s business.”
But Davis said Tuesday that he changed his mind because he wanted to put to rest any doubts that he was, in fact, a police officer at one time.
Davis has said he served as a Culver City police officer for seven months more than 40 years ago. He said he resigned after witnessing the death of a child who had been hit by a car.
