Bolsa Grande Defeats Kennedy With Late Score

ANAHEIM — Bryan Taylor scored from two yards out on a quarterback sneak with 2 minutes 37 seconds left to play to give Bolsa Grande High School a 14-13 victory over Kennedy in a Garden Grove League football game Saturday at Western High School.
Bolsa Grande (2-4, 1-2 in league) drove 82 yards in 13 plays for the winning score and was aided by two penalties. Kennedy (2-4, 0-3) was penalized 11 times for 120 yards.
Vince Church led Kennedy with 180 yards rushing in 26 carries and scored two touchdowns. His six-yard run with 6:40 remaining in the third quarter allowed Kennedy to tie the score, 7-7.
His seven-yard run later in the quarter gave Kennedy a 13-7 lead. On the point-after attempt, Kennedy had a bad snap and holder Rod Rosales’ pass was incomplete.
On its first possession of the second half, Kennedy went 69 yards in 10 plays to score--all on runs by Church. On its next possession, Church carried on six of seven plays for 42 yards, including a touchdown.
Bolsa Grande took the lead with 11 seconds to play in the first half when Zac Bustos caught a 15-yard pass from Taylor.
