In “10 Gangster Flicks That You Can’t Refuse,” Rainer writes that “a team of screenwriters, including an uncredited John Huston,” wrote the screenplay of “The Killers.” Though he praises the screenwriting as “expertly padding out the Hemingway short story,” he neglects to mention the name of the screenwriter who received sole credit, my father, Anthony Veiller.
Huston and Veiller collaborated ona number of screenplays, including “Moulin Rouge,” “The List of Adrian Messenger” and “Night of the Iguana.”
