Girls’ Basketball Coach at Valencia Resigns

Valencia High School girls’ basketball coach Kim Beckhart has resigned to become an assistant coach at UC Riverside, Pam Simmons, the Valencia girls’ athletic director, said Friday.
Beckhart coached the Tigers in 1989-90, when they finished second in the Orange League. Valencia lost in the second round of the Southern Section 4-AA playoffs.
The previous season, Beckhart was an assistant coach for the Tigers, who won the 4-AA title.
The school is accepting applications for a replacement, Simmons said.
