Domestic Air Fares to Rise 4.2%: The fares are being hiked to cover higher fuel costs, but travel agents reported only a slight increase in ticket sales before the increases begin on Monday. A more substantial fare jump last month prompted not only record ticket sales but record-breaking headaches for travel agents. The unprecedented sales volume overloaded computer reservation systems, causing them to stall, or, in some cases, temporarily shut down.
