OKLAHOMA CITY — Kerr-McGee Refining Corp. will sell 95 company-operated retail properties in the Southeast to concentrate marketing efforts in the Midwest, the company has announced.
“We want to focus future retail growth where we have brand recognition,” said Myron Cunningham, a spokesman for the energy and chemical company.
The properties to be sold include 52 operating stations, 31 closed stations and 12 undeveloped sites in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee.
Cunningham said money from the sales will be used to build and acquire additional retail units in the company’s primary brand-name marketing area, where the company continues to emphasize wholesale and retail operations. That includes the Midwest and certain Texas markets.
