St. Bonaventure Wins on Last Play

Gino Nucci intercepted a pass and raced 70 yards down the right sideline for the winning score as time expired to give St. Bonaventure High a stunning 14-8 victory over Nordhoff in a nonleague game Saturday night at Ventura High.
With Nordhoff (1-2) trailing, 8-0, Jaren Hoskins threw a 65-yard touchdown pass to Bryan Salas with seven minutes to play and hit Brandon Garnsey for a two-point conversion to tie the score. Toby Noblin, who had a game-high 100 yards in 21 carries, scored from one yard to give St. Bonaventure (1-2) a 6-0 lead late in the second quarter. St. Bonaventure’s Pete Houston completed 10 of 15 passes for 104 yards.
