South Carolina Athletic Director King Dixon said he had not heard from the Southeastern Conference, which will reportedly offer the school a membership.
The New Orleans Times-Picayune quoted an unidentified league source as saying the SEC will extend an invitation Tuesday and the announcement would probably be made Wednesday.
“That’s news to me,” SEC Commissioner Roy Kramer said.
