An Oxnard man, shot by a Ventura County sheriff’s deputy in Fillmore after reportedly aiming a gun at the deputy, pleaded not guilty to two charges Tuesday, authorities said.
Lee Lyle, 23, has been charged with assault with a firearm and discharging a firearm in a grossly negligent manner, Sheriff’s Sgt. Mike Barnes said.
Deputy Michael Hasty shot Lyle after he refused to drop his weapon and instead aimed it at Hasty in front of a party on the 1000 block of Wileman Street last weekend, Barnes said.
