A Scarry World: Mr. Frumble the Pig, Huckle Cat and the Lowly Worm will have a chance at a new life. Their creator, 71-year-old children’s book writer Richard Scarry, signed an exclusive deal with Paramount Pictures to bring his characters to the movies and TV. The arrangement grants Paramount the rights to Scarry’s stories and illustrations. In addition, Paramount has rights to license merchandise and potential theme park attractions based on Scarry’s work. The Boston author’s 300 books have sold a total of 100 million copies.
