Controversy Over Federal Funds for Artists

Kudos to Bogin. She makes a crystal-clear, perceptive statement regarding the cultural humanistic reasons why it is so important to renew the National Endowment for the Art’s mandate without qualification.
Her wise insights and bottom-line observations show how art reflects societal truths without which museums would be reduced to greeting-card status.
More than ever we need depictions of the depths and heights to which mankind and womankind have been subjected to political power.
So much has been deleted from our history books, but art refuses to erase these ugly truths. Without art the ugly and the beautiful would be buried unrecorded.
