Datum Inc.: The Anaheim-based manufacturer of frequency and timing instruments reported a second-quarter loss of $234,000, contrasted with net income of $327,000 in the corresponding year-earlier quarter. Sales declined 16% to $7.7 million from $9.2 million. For the first half of 1990, the company posted a net loss of $164,000, contrasted with net income of $540,000 for the year-earlier period. Sales fell 12% to $15.5 million from $17.7 million.
