Record Store Owner Won’t Take the Rap: A record store owner who refused to stop selling a controversial 2 Live Crew album pleaded not guilty Tuesday in San Antonio to a charge of promoting obscene material. David Risher, owner of Hog Wild Records and Tapes, was released on a personal recognizance bond after a hearing before County Court-At-Law Judge Tony Jimenez III. Risher was charged with the misdemeanor last month after a citizen complaint was filed against him for selling the album. He refused to pull the album from his shelves. If convicted, he could face up to one year in jail, a $1,000 fine, or both.
