Rare Elvis on Film: A collection of never-before-seen photographs of Elvis Presley on tour in 1956 will be the focus of “Elvis Close-Up: Jay Leviton Photographs” at the New Orleans Museum of Art from Aug. 3 to Oct. 4. The exhibition features 120 photos of Presley that Leviton took for Collier’s magazine, which ceased publication before the photos could be published. Scenes include Presley relaxing backstage between performances, eating in diners, and on the verge of collapse from exhaustion.
