ATLANTA — Sen. Wyche Fowler wed Donna Hulsizer after she slowed him down “long enough to walk down the aisle.”
The pair exchanged vows in a private ceremony Saturday at Central Presbyterian Church.
“I thought I was too old to be a newlywed,” said Fowler, 49, an Atlanta Democrat elected to the Senate in 1986.
“I just had to slow him down long enough to walk down the aisle,” said Donna Fowler, 41, a native of Poughkeepsie, N.Y. She is issues director of People for the American Way, a lobbying group founded by TV producer Norman Lear.
It is the second marriage for both.
