Lawyers for Pete Rose received a pre-sentencing report in his income tax case, Rose’s spokesperson said. She refused further comment on the matter.
Prosecutors and Rose’s lawyers have 10 days to object to any factual statements in the report before it goes to U.S. District Judge S. Arthur Spiegel, said Pat Crowley, supervising officer in the U.S. probation office in Cincinnati.
Rose pleaded guilty before Spiegel in April to filing false federal income-tax returns for 1985 and 1987. He faces six years in prison and a $500,000 fine.
