Woman Killed in Sylmar Van Crash

An unidentified woman was killed Friday when her van veered off the road near the Olive View Medical Center in Sylmar, plunged into a flood control channel and exploded in flames, Los Angeles police reported.
The woman, who was driving a Dodge van, could not be immediately identified because she was severely burned.
Officer Bill Mulvihill said police were investigating the cause of the accident.
