N. Korea to Hand Over U.S. Soldiers’ Remains

UNITED NATIONS — North Korea said today that the remains of five U.S. servicemen killed in the Korean War will be released Memorial Day. It will mark the first time remains have been handed over since 1954.
Jong Ho, North Korea’s deputy permanent representative at its U.N. mission, said, “We are happy to settle this issue in a humanitarian way.” The remains are to be handed over to a U.S. congressional delegation in the truce village of Panmunjom.
