SCHOOL’S OUT: The proposal that three elementary schools be closed in Huntington Beach (B4) is nothing new for Orange County but may be the end of a trend. . . . Countywide figures are tough to come by, but nearly 40 schools have been closed in six of the county’s 28 districts alone. The Westminster, Orange and Newport-Mesa districts have reopened or built new elementary schools and are contemplating more in the next two years. . . . Says Westminster Assistant Supt. Barbara Winars: “We’re on the way back up.”
