Jack M. Ferris; Held Several Teaching and Medical Posts

Jack M. Ferris, 78, most recently emeritus professor of surgery at the UC San Diego School of Medicine and before that staff surgeon at Hospital of the Good Samaritan in Los Angeles and chief of surgical services at Harbor General Hospital in Torrance and California Hospital Medical Center in Los Angeles. Ferris also taught at USC, UCLA, the University of Michigan and UC Irvine. He served on the boards of the Medical Research Assn. of California and Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation. In San Diego on May 2 of heart failure.
