Brent Noon of Fallbrook High set an all-time indoor national best in the shotput Saturday by throwing 74-feet-11, eclipsing Jesse Stuart’s 71-11, which stood for 20 years as listed by Track & Field News. Noon did it at the University of Reno Open track and field meet.
Noon also set a personal best in the discus at Reno, throwing 199-7.
The national best in the shot caps a week in which Noon set two Section records by throwing the discus 195-9 and throwing the shot 75-2 in the Palomar League finals.
Noon also holds the all-time state best and this year’s national best in the shot at 76-2, set a week and a half ago in a dual meet. Marks set in dual meets do not count as section records. His 199-7 in discus will not count as a Section record because it was set out of state.
