COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : OCC Moves to First in Volleyball Race

The Orange Coast College volleyball team defeated Santa Barbara, 15-5, 15-11, 15-3, Wednesday at Orange Coast to take sole possession of first place in the South Coast Conference.
Matt Lyles had 21 kills, Lance Lyons and Greg Buccola had 16 kills each and Travis turner had 68 assists for Orange Coast (19-2). Santa Barbara is 18-3.
In Orange Empire Conference softball:
Cypress 5, Fullerton 0--Freshman Laura Corson pitched a four-hitter for her 11th shutout to lead Cypress (35-5, 13-2) at Fullerton (6-23, 5-11). Cypress scored twice in the fourth inning and three runs in the fifth. Tricia Barr had a two-run triple and scored on a single by Sally Dugas in the fifth.
Golden West 3, Saddleback 0--Lisa Kaufman (17-7) pitched a four-hitter, striking out seven and walked three for visiting Golden West (28-13, 10-6).
