Merrill Ineligible Pending Inquiry

Tajah Merrill, the pitcher who left Camarillo High on Monday and pitched for Channel Islands on Wednesday, is ineligible pending a Southern Section inquiry.
Merrill, a junior left-hander with a 2-1 record, quit the Camarillo team after the spring break and withdrew from school for personal reasons. He and his father moved into an apartment in Channel Islands’ attendance area, but Southern Section authorities are investigating whether his mother and sister still live in Camarillo. For an athlete to remain eligible, the athlete and the family must change residence without maintaining two addresses.
Merrill pitched one inning for Channel Islands on Wednesday in a 17-12 loss to Thousand Oaks.
