The Laguna Beach Education Foundation will hold its annual 10K run on Sunday morning to raise money for local schools.
The race, which will loop through downtown Laguna Beach past Main Beach and back along Laguna Canyon Road, is expected to draw between 2,500 and 3,000 runners. Traffic along Laguna Canyon Road is expected to be snarled until about 10 a.m.
The ninth annual event will include 2K and 10K walks and runs. Entry fees of $12 and $15 include a T-shirt for each participant. Proceeds are donated to the Laguna Beach Unified School District, which distributes the money among the city’s four schools as recommended by school officials, Prewitt said.
Participants can register between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. today at Sports World at 290 Broadway in Laguna Beach or at the Festival of Arts grounds at 6 a.m. on Sunday. The activities start at 8 a.m. Sunday at the festival grounds.
