American Airlines Shifts Jobs: American Airlines said it will shift its Western reservations center in Los Angeles to a series of smaller centers, ending 850 jobs at the Mid-Wilshire facility. But the carrier also said it plans to boost flights in California, a move that, along with attrition and new jobs elsewhere in its system, could absorb the 850 jobs lost in Los Angeles.
