RIO DE JANEIRO — Paul McCartney is expected to break attendance records tonight for a concert at the world’s largest soccer stadium. Hundreds of fans wearing “We Love You, Paul” T-shirts packed the lobby of Galeao International Airport before dawn Wednesday to greet the ex-Beatle.
McCartney performs tonight and Saturday at Rio’s 200,000-capacity Maracana Stadium. Promoters said 130,000 tickets put on sale for each show were nearly sold out. Prices range from about $6.50 to $120.
