Rooney to Speak: “60 Minutes” commentator Andy Rooney, who was recently suspended by CBS for remarks attributed to him about blacks and gays, is the scheduled keynote speaker at the Constitutional Rights Foundation annual spring dinner May 7 at the Century Plaza. Rooney is expected to speak on First Amendment issues. The nonprofit organization educates youth about the values expressed in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Rooney recently was suspended for three months, but was off the air three weeks after a gay-oriented magazine quoted him as making disparaging remarks about homosexuals and blacks.
