Dennis Brown

Concerning the story on Assemblyman Dennis Brown (April 1), I have a few questions:
* Doesn’t this article belong in the religion section?
* Doesn’t the article’s subheading, “He’s Already Putting Lawmaking Aside for More Study of God’s Laws,” assert the fact that there is a God who wrote some laws, but (at further reading) not of the Jewish, Muslim, Hindu or Buddhist variety?
* Aren’t “God’s laws” really just laws that some other human-type guys wrote many, many centuries ago to keep order?
* Isn’t it ironic that a politician wants to be a preacher instead of vice versa?
* Doesn’t that show us that politics and religion are one and the same?
