Penn State will remain in the Atlantic 10 conference through June 30, 1991, Commissioner Ron Bertovich said.

Penn State’s standing in the Atlantic 10 was in doubt after the school accepted an invitation to join the Big Ten. Questions were raised whether Penn State would be allowed to play in the Atlantic 10 in the period before it officially joined the Big Ten.
