Police said Friday that they plan to charge a 33-year-old San Diego resident in the slaying of his girlfriend’s 13-month-old child.
Maria L. Mena took her dead child, Angel, to Hillside Hospital at 11 a.m. Wednesday. An autopsy revealed that the child had substantial internal injuries, police said. After interviewing Mena and her boyfriend, Jesse Barrios, homicide detectives arrested Barrios on Friday.
