HUNTINGTON PARK — Gwendolyn S. King, commissioner of the Social Security Administration, will dedicate the Hebert R. Doggette Jr. Training Center today.
The center, which trains Social Security representatives for the San Francisco region, is named in honor of the man who is retiring from federal service March 31. Doggette started his federal career in the Huntington Park office as a mail and stockroom clerk and rose to the position of deputy commissioner for operations of the Social Security Administration.
The ribbon-cutting and unveiling of a commemorative plaque will begin at 8 a.m. at the center, 6303 Rugby Ave., Huntington Park.
