Lunceford Picks Cal State Long Beach

Linda Lunceford of Trabuco Hills High School has orally committed to attend Cal State Long Beach on a softball scholarship.

A pitcher and a shortstop, Lunceford led Orange County batting last year with a .500 average and had 24 stolen bases. She also was most valuable player of the Pacific Coast League and was a Times’ first-team All-County selection.

Lunceford also was a standout player for Trabuco Hills’ soccer team. She picked Long Beach over Minnesota, Ohio State, Iowa and Colorado State.
