Grant’s Weinstein Named League Player of the Year

Keith Weinstein, a 6-foot senior who led Grant High into the City Section 3-A Division semifinals, was selected the East Valley League Player of the Year on Monday night in a vote of coaches.
Weinstein averaged 16.5 points and 3.7 assists a game for Grant, which also placed Setro Terzian and Rene de la Hoya on the first team. Brian Bennett of Birmingham and Donovan Walker of Sylmar also were first-team picks.
