A 34-year-old Anaheim woman was in custody Thursday on suspicion of felony drunk driving after her car hit a father and daughter crossing a Stanton street, killing the man, sheriff’s officials said.
Nasario Romero Miranda, 57, of Stanton was pronounced dead at Midwood Hospital in Stanton on Wednesday. His daughter, Gloria Maria Romero, 24, received several injuries and was treated at Humana West Hospital in Anaheim. She was released Thursday, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Penney Patricia Bustamantez, 34, may face vehicular manslaughter charges, authorities said.
Sheriff’s Lt. Harold Schaffroth said the incident occurred at 5:01 p.m. Wednesday as Miranda and his daughter were walking in the marked crosswalk across Dale Street at Chanticleer Road.
The two were struck by a 1970 Ford Maverick driven by Bustamantez, Schaffroth said.
