Leavitt Gets Post at NBC Productions

NBC Productions, the network’s in-house production unit, has named Todd P. Leavitt to the post of senior vice president, responsible for overseeing the unit’s day-to-day operations. He will report to John Agoglia, executive vice president of business affairs, NBC Entertainment.
Under NBC Entertainment President Brandon Tartikoff and the encouragement of NBC parent General Electric, NBC Productions has become the most prolific among the three network in-house studios, with six shows currently in production. Federal regulations that limit each network to producing only five hours of prime-time programming per week expire this fall, and NBC is intensely lobbying to overturn government rules that prohibit networks from syndicating shows in the United States.
Leavitt has been executive vice president, Reeves Entertainment Group, since 1987 and is a former chief operating officer of D. L. Taffner Ltd. and senior vice president at CBS/Fox Video.
