Kyle Petty came up with the first pole position of his NASCAR Winston Cup career, taking the top spot for Sunday’s Goodwrench 500 at North Carolina Motor Speedway in Rockingham, N.C. Petty, 29, turned a fast lap of 148.751 m.p.h. on the 1.017-mile oval.
